It looks like my “Neighborhood Naturalist” title has already been used! Oh well, more power to them. It just gives me the impetus to come up with something clever and unique. Perhaps the “South Hill Naturalist?”

I like your attitude, Josh! I also like this idea about paying attention and being here now. I was surprised by the previous post that Thoreau was accessible, as everything I’ve heard before (from another hero-worshiper) had him isolated and almost angrily denying himself the comforts of others, putting himself on a pedestal. But perhaps my “friend” was simply projecting.
